Whether the job is a problem call or planned activity, the job workflow will be the same. The Dispatcher generates a job item by doing the following: selecting the proper customer and the associated equipment or task (if known), selecting the field personnel to be assigned, entering the appropriate problem information for work orders or selecting the appropriate scheduled procedure for planned activities and finally clicking send. From here, the job flows to the Mobile FieldPro Communication Center through a encrypted connection where it is processed and routed to the appropriate field personnel using Mobile FieldPro push technology.
As the job item is uploaded, a status notification is automatically sent back to the office via the Communication Server. Similarly for each step in the workflow, i.e. viewed, traveling, working or hold, Mobile FieldPro tracks both time and status changes. So the office personnel can always see a live status of every individual job item. This gives you the necessary information to manage your workflow effectively. It also provides you with accurate job statistics which can be used internally to identify additional opportunities for efficiency improvements.
One of the features separating Mobile FieldPro from other workflow solutions is how we handle out-of-coverage issues. When field personnel are temporarily out of wireless coverage, Mobile FieldPro Communication Server queues the job information both from the Dispatcher and on the device. Once they are back in wireless coverage, job information will synchronize automatically. There is no need for the dispatcher or the field personnel to manually re-send job information. Mobile FieldPro Communication Server maintains the wireless coverage status for all field personnel and will push and pull job information automatically as needed.
